With a diversified background in teaching writing (with an M.A. in writing from NYU) and publishing, Barbara has helped hundreds of students improve their writing. She was one of the first educators to introduce meditation as a teaching tool for creative expression in her writing courses. She wrote and directed a writing curriculum at The Lighthouse International in NYC and taught composition at Palm Beach Community College.
Starting out in publishing at Random House in NYC as a copywriter, she later became a magazine editor. Gradually she worked her way up to managing editor, where she developed a critical eye for the printed word.
Published as a writer (articles and interviews), she understands the writer's ego. "Writing is one thing, but editing is my passion," she explains, "because I can help writers get published. Working with new authors is just as exciting as editing for an established writer."
